Hitech GP are delighted to announce that Alessandro Ghiretti will be joining them in their FIA F3 Asian Championship and Winter Series line-up next year.
The 16-year-old F4 SEA 2018 champion from Marrakech will join the Silverstone squad as they battle for victory in the FIA F3 Asian championship and Winter Series, after clinching the team’s title in the inaugural 2018 Asian F3 championship. Following successful testing with Hitech GP in Sepang earlier this month, Ghiretti showcased his pace and ability behind the wheel of the Tatuus T-318 car.
Since carving his craft in the grass-roots of motorsport, Ghiretti has impressed with his supreme pace and ability, earning several accolades in his formative years. Making his karting debut at the age of 12, he took home the top spot in the French X30 Junior Karting Championship. In 2015, Ghiretti graduated to Junior X30, claiming the French Champion title the following year in Lavilledieu (Ardèche). On his debut in single-seaters in Italian Formula 4 in 2017, Ghiretti put on an impressive battle, climbing his way up the ranks and taking the championship title.
In a hard-fought campaign in F4 SEA in 2018, the French driver claimed several race wins and podiums, sealing the season as championship winner.
With a wealth of results and fine-tuned experience, Ghiretti joins Hitech GP ready to battle for victory in the FIA F3 Asian Championship, which is set to kick off at Sepang International Circuit on April 5-7 next year and the Asian F3 Winter series getting underway on 11-13 January at Buriram International Circuit in Thailand.
“Only tenacity leads to victory. I am truly happy and proud to join Hitech GP. It’s a chance for me to grow within the team. Together we’re going to work hard to win both championships.”
Hitech GP’s F3 Asian Team Manager, Phil Blow, added:
“We are really pleased to be able to announce Alessandro for not only the winter series but also the 2019 championship. He tested really well in Sepang so we’re expecting him to score good results straight away. The fact that we’ve signed the Asian F4 Champion further strengthens our presence in Asia which was one of our main goals for this programme.”
